Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Richmond, VA)

Ironwood Quill Facilities is a facilities company in Richmond with crews on day and night shifts, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 572 people based in Richmond. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around contractor visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with customer sites. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Richmond. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
