Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Richmond, VA)

Silverline Fox Construction is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for project schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 45 people based in Richmond. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around subcontractor invoices against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
