Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Foxglove Vista Early Learning runs childcare centres in Seattle caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. We celebrate small wins and steady routines. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with family communication. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Seattle. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
