Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Harborlight Clear Telecom provides broadband and phone service around Kansas City, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 49 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to network equipment, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with network equipment. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Kansas City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
