Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Ironwood Cobalt Early Learning operates neighbourhood childcare around Austin, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. We celebrate small wins and steady routines. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to enrolment, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Austin. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
