Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Highbridge Orchard Care Services supports families and individuals in Kansas City with personal care and coordination, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 198 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around caregiver training against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to care plans, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with care plans. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Kansas City. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
