Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Cedar Cross Foods is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for sanitation schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 94 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to sanitation schedules, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with sanitation schedules.
