Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Stonegate River Financial Group serves customers across Milwaukee with accounts, loans and payments, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Career paths are clear. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around customer onboarding against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with regulatory reports. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Milwaukee. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
