Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Lumen Loom Insurance Group is an insurance company in Memphis with claims and service teams, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 264 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer complaints. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Memphis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
