Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Rivermark Nest Auto Group is a Austin company supplying vehicle parts and service, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Service hours are steady. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer estimates, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around service appointments against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer estimates. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Austin. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
