Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Clearpath Cross Transit Planning Group plans bus and rail service for cities around Fort Worth, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around ridership counts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to accessibility audits, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Fort Worth. • We reply to every applicant.
