Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Fernwood Rowan Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Colorado Springs. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. Early starts and steady work; we look after our drivers. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around collection routes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with weigh tickets. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Colorado Springs. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
