Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Cedar Kestrel Markets is a Honolulu retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier deliveries, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with supplier deliveries. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Honolulu. • We reply to every applicant.
