Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Harborlight Linden Banking Services provides everyday banking and small-business lending around Raleigh. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 190 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around account openings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with card disputes. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Raleigh. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
