Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Ironwood Fern Foods Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for sanitation schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Food safety is non-negotiable and we train for it. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to sanitation schedules, and clear open items. • Track costs around production batches against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Omaha. • We reply to every applicant.
