Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Redstone Bridge Freight is a Memphis logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. We reward reliability. What you will do • Track costs around proof of delivery against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with carrier rates. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Memphis. • We reply to every applicant.
