Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Harborlight Legal Group is a law firm in Oklahoma City serving businesses and individuals, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. We are a close group and share the work. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around client files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to court deadlines, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Oklahoma City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
