Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Clearpath Granite Markets serves neighbourhoods around Jackson with fresh food and everyday goods. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. Managers started on the floor. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to pricing, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around online orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with pricing. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Jackson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
