Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Highbridge River Markets serves neighbourhoods around Rochester with fresh food and everyday goods. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. We like people who know our customers by name. What you will do • Track costs around online orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Rochester. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
