Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Harborlight Pine Press produces print and digital publications in El Paso. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to print quotes, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around paper stock against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in El Paso. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
