Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

We are growing our team at Rivermark Fox Construction and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 98 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to permits, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around change orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with permits. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
