Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Ironwood Cedar Inspection Services tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Cleveland, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to certifications, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around test reports against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with certifications. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Cleveland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
