Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Harborlight Ember Financial is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for regulatory reports, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory reports, and clear open items. • Track costs around loan applications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with regulatory reports. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Austin. • We reply to every applicant.
