Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Nova Ivory Environmental Services is an environmental-services company in Cleveland with routes, transfer stations and recycling. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. Safety briefings happen every morning. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around landfill records against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with weigh tickets. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Cleveland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
