Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Westbrook Cross Hospitality Group is a hospitality company in Kansas City with restaurants, rooms and catering, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. We work weekends and holidays and we make it fun. What you will do • Track costs around guest bookings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to group events, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Kansas City. • We reply to every applicant.
