Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

We are growing our team at Rivermark Timber Medical and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around regulatory submissions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production lots, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Jackson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
