Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Rivermark Umber Hospitality operates hotels and event venues around Philadelphia, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around supplier orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with group events. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Philadelphia. • We reply to every applicant.
