Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Westbrook Union Civic Services works with county and city offices around Memphis, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 43 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to procurement, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with procurement. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Memphis. • We reply to every applicant.
