Senior Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Amberfield Ivory Inspection Services is an inspection company in Rochester with field technicians and lab staff, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Technicians travel and report carefully. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field inspections, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Rochester. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
