Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Pittsburgh, PA)

We are growing our team at Silverline Meadow Housing and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 808 people based in Pittsburgh. What you will do • Track costs around lease compliance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to maintenance stores, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with maintenance stores. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Pittsburgh, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
