Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Philadelphia, PA)

Greenridge Field Community Partners is a nonprofit in Philadelphia supporting families with food, housing and job help. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. Mission matters here, and so does looking after staff. What you will do • Track costs around volunteer shifts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with benefits enrolment. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
