Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Philadelphia, PA)

Bluepeak Ember Insurance provides coverage to households and businesses around Philadelphia, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer complaints. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Philadelphia. • We reply to every applicant.
