Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Philadelphia, PA)

Harborlight Amber Insurance is an insurance company in Philadelphia with claims and service teams, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Claims teams work together and share what they learn. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to premium billing, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Philadelphia. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
