Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Omaha, NE)

Greenridge Bridge Environmental Services is an environmental-services company in Omaha with routes, transfer stations and recycling, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service complaints, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with service complaints. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Omaha. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
