Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Oklahoma City, OK)

Greenridge Granite Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Oklahoma City and nearby communities, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Safety and public health guide our decisions. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around billing accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter reading, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
