Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Oklahoma City, OK)

Nova Loom Early Learning is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for tuition and subsidies, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Children come first and so does looking after the teachers. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to tuition and subsidies, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around classroom supplies against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Oklahoma City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
