Senior Accountant - accounts payable (New Orleans, LA)

Silverline Yarrow Arts Center is a cultural organisation in New Orleans presenting exhibitions and performances, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Evenings and weekends are part of the job. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around school partnerships against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with exhibitions. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in New Orleans, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
