Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Minneapolis, MN)

Ironwood Ivory Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Minneapolis. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 29 people based in Minneapolis. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around hardship programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to usage data, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with usage data. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Minneapolis. • We reply to every applicant.
