Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Memphis, TN)

Stonegate Fox Learning Group runs classrooms and tutoring across the Memphis area. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Memphis. What you will do • Track costs around attendance records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to family communication, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Memphis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
