Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Memphis, TN)

Greenridge Sparrow Energy is an energy provider in Memphis focused on reliable service and fair billing, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around hardship programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Memphis. • We reply to every applicant.
