Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Memphis, TN)

Silverline Timber Staffing connects candidates and employers across the Memphis region, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Recruiters here keep in touch with people long after placement. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around timekeeping against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to candidate screening, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Memphis. • We reply to every applicant.
