Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Memphis, TN)

Silverline Haven Community Partners runs community programmes across Memphis. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 41 people based in Memphis. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around grant reporting against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to volunteer shifts, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with volunteer shifts. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Memphis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
