Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Memphis, TN)

Rivermark Timber Early Learning runs childcare centres in Memphis caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. We celebrate small wins and steady routines. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to classroom supplies, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around meal programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Memphis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
