Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Madison, WI)

We are growing our team at Clearpath North Insurance Associates and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around policy renewals against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to premium billing, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with premium billing. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Madison. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
