Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Louisville, KY)

Clearpath Orchard Civic Services supports public agencies in Louisville with budgeting, records and programmes, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Louisville. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to case files, and clear open items. • Track costs around budget submissions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Louisville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
