Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Las Vegas, NV)

Northwind Yarrow Freight is a Las Vegas logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to carrier rates, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with carrier rates. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Las Vegas, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
