Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Kansas City, MO)

Amberfield Pike Construction is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for subcontractor invoices, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Good people move up quickly. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to subcontractor invoices, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around safety records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Kansas City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
