Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Kansas City, MO)

We are growing our team at Nova Glen Hospitality and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 72 people based in Kansas City. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to group events, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around food costs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with group events. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Kansas City. • We reply to every applicant.
