Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Kansas City, MO)

Redstone Ashton Hospitality operates hotels and event venues around Kansas City. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 717 people based in Kansas City. What you will do • Track costs around supplier orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to reviews and feedback, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with reviews and feedback. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Kansas City. • We reply to every applicant.
