Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Jackson, MS)

Cedar Oak Facilities Group cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Jackson, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 355 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cleaning schedules, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around customer sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with cleaning schedules. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Jackson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
